Yashu ha cambiato tre nomi nel corso della sua vita: nata maschio con il nome di Pasquale all’inizio degli Anni ’60, ha vissuto un’infanzia difficile a Napoli. Poi la svolta e il trasferimento nei primissimi Anni ’80 a Firenze. Pasquale ha da sempre un sogno: vuole cambiare sesso ma per farlo deve trovare i soldi e la via più semplice anche se più dura è prostituirsi. Alla fine degli Anni ’80 l’intervento chirurgico e il tanto sospirato cambiamento. Pasquale all’anagrafe diventa Ilaria, per lei la vita è tutta lustrini ed eccessi. Discoteca, incontri occasionali e vita di un certo tipo. Fino al bivio: un viaggio fatto per scommessa che le cambia la vita: l’impatto con l’India e la nuova vita spirituale. Ilaria diventa Yashu e abbraccia la meditazione di Osho.
Al ritorno dal viaggio Ilaria è cambiata: solare, positiva, razionale. A Milano, nel 2000 l’incontro con Daniel, un ragazzo venezuelano. Daniel è gay ma scopre subito un’attrazione fatale per Yashu. Però i pregiudizi e la paura frenano il loro amore. Ci vuole parecchio tempo prima che i due si dichiarino e coronino il loro sogno d’amore. Nel frattempo Daniel sceglie un nome indiano, Prem, e si avvicina alla meditazione.
I due si sposano a Firenze a settembre del 2007, il loro sodalizio è anche artistico: infatti sono due stilisti e vendono i loro capi facendo la spola tra India e Sardegna.

Yashu changed three names over the course of his life: born male with the name Pasquale in the early 1960s, he lived a difficult childhood in Naples. On returning from the journey Ilaria has changed: solar, positive, rational. In Milan, in 2000, I met Daniel, a Venezuelan boy. Daniel is gay but immediately discovers a fatal attraction for Yashu.
But prejudices and fear hold back their love. It takes a long time for the two to declare themselves and crown their love dream. Meanwhile Daniel chooses an Indian name, Prem, and approaches meditation.
The two get married in Florence in September 2007, their partnership is also artistic: in fact they are two stylists and they sell their clothes by shuttling between India and Sardinia.
